Addressing gender-based online harassment and cyber violence in digital spaces

    About the committee

In an increasingly digital world, the internet has become both a space of empowerment and a new frontier of violence. Gender-based online harassment and cyber violence—ranging from threats, stalking, doxxing, and sexual abuse to coordinated attacks and image-based exploitation—disproportionately target women and girls, especially activists, journalists, and public figures. This form of violence often transcends borders, platforms, and legal systems, making it difficult to regulate and even harder to escape. As a result, many women face silencing, self-censorship, psychological harm, and exclusion from digital and public spaces. This committee will explore how states, international organizations, and tech platforms can respond to the growing normalization of online gender-based violence, while balancing issues of freedom of expression, jurisdiction, and digital governance in an interconnected world.

    Topic

Regulating political campaign financing to combat corruption and undue influence in electoral processes

    About the committee

Political campaign financing sits at the heart of democratic integrity when left unregulated, it becomes a direct pipeline for corruption, foreign interference and the conversion of private wealth into political power. From super PACs flooding US elections with anonymous dark money to Electoral Bonds in India and Russian loans to European far-right parties, the mechanisms of undue influence are global, sophisticated, and accelerating.Delegates will debate binding transparency standards, foreign donation bans, and public financing models-asking the fundamental question of whether elections can ever truly reflect the will of citizens rather than the weight of wallets.
