About the committee

Security Council, a UN body established in 1945, remains the most significant committee in the United Nations for all those years since its founding. The body handles all matters of the utmost urgency, being the only one in the UN authorized to send military forces. The situation in Haiti has been of some of the largest relevance ever since the gangs took near full control of the capital in 2024 and ousted Prime Minister Ariel Henry. The governmental collapse, gangs' control over the country, and the failed UN peacekeeping mission call for action from the Security Council.

South Africa v. Israel

About the committee

With the experience of Apartheid and in light of the alleged genocide committed in the Gaza strip the Republic of South Africa had sued the State of Israel for, above others, violating the Genocide Convention. This landmark case explores the complex legal questions concerning the state responsibility in the act of an armed conflict and the humanitarian law. Delegates in ICJ will act as lawyers and representatives, presenting evidence and examining experts and witnesses in one of the most high-profile international disputes of our time.

About the committee

In the past the world economy was highly dependent on the US dollar. Most transactions were done with this currency, nevertheless in the last few years it is seen that the dollar is being replaced by Japanese Yen or Chinese Yuan. During the shift in the politics of the United States, Delegates must discuss the future of the leading world currency.

Ensuring labor rights and social protections in the Global South under the ICESCR (International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights).

About the committee

In countries of the Global South, where garment manufacturing, agriculture, or mining are the dominant economic sectors, abuses like forced labor, child labor, and union suppression are prominent. Such conditions violate both international law and human dignity. Under the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR) rights like right to form trade unions or favourable labour conditions are ensured, nevertheless in much of the Global South, these rights remain far from reality. Delegates in HRC will debate upon establishing a balance between fulfilling the global supply chains and ensuring the humane labour conditions.

About the committee

Religious organizations, while often granted legal and financial privileges, have increasingly been exploited as channels for illicit financial flows, including money laundering, tax frauds and terrorism financing.This topic poses a unique challenge: ensuring financial transparency and accountability without disturbing religious freedoms. Delegates in the UNODC will examine legal loopholes, oversight mechanisms, and international cooperation frameworks to combat this misuse.

About the committee

Despite ongoing development efforts, access to quality healthcare in many parts of Africa remains limited, particularly in high-fertility regions where maternal and child mortality rates are disproportionately high. Structural barriers, resource shortages, and inadequate infrastructure continue to impede progress. This topic calls upon delegates to evaluate existing healthcare frameworks, consider international support mechanisms, and develop sustainable, culturally sensitive solutions to improve outcomes for mothers and children across the continent.

Delegates will examine how policies can be improved or reimagined to promote equitable participation. The discussion will also explore best practices and international cooperation to ensure long-term, inclusive representation.

Reevaluating the relevance of the Outer Space Treaty: Assessing emerging challenges such as commercialization, militarization, and equitable access to space resources.

About the committee

The Outer Space Treaty from 1967 laid out the basic principles of international space law, restricting practices that were believed to be harmful to the greater good or inequitable to some nations. It formulated general regulations on the exploration and use of outer space, however, since then a great deal of matters have changed. With the growing presence of the private sector in space, and the growing interests of nations like the United States or China to expand their military capabilities beyond Earth’s atmosphere, new regulations and advancements to the Outer Space Treaty need to be considered.

Mitigating the economic and political impact of the Great Depression. The year: 1932.

About the committee

The Great Depression, a global crisis which broke out in 1929 following the Wall Street crash, resulted in recession and mass unemployment in the world’s most advanced economies. It also exacerbated socio-political tensions, leading to the spread of authoritarian and expansionist regimes. The Delegates will represent their respective countries at the height of the crisis in 1932. Their role will be to negotiate common solutions to such issues as the Japanese invasion of Manchuria or the heavy economic burden of reparations, with the goal of maintaining economic and political stability in the world.
