Presentation of this year's theme : 

In today's increasingly tense geopolitical context, diplomacy becomes the vital instrument upon which unity relies. The United Nations, as a representation of international society, is at the center of all global tensions. This year, LyonMUN invites you to explore what diplomacy is capable of achieving in times of global unrest. What are the tools available for the United Nations to mediate conflicts? How do relations between United Nations members evolve when tensions increse? What is the impact of such political fragmentations? How can diplomatic relations sustain such periods?

LyonMUN is a Lyon-based association that has been active since 2012. It is exclusively administered by students. It aims to promote the principles and practices of the United Nations by allowing students to take part in mock negotiations. LyonMUN committees are in French, English, Spanish and Arabic.

Themes: 

Social n°1 : Welcome to our first night of “Velvet & Lights”, at Château de Montchat for an exceptional evening where mystery, elegance, and boldness come together. The night is adorned with feathers and sequins as the enchanting world of burlesque takes over this charming venue. Beneath soft lighting and to the rythm of captivating music, let yourself be carried away into an atmosphere worthy of the greatest cabarets. For one everning, step into a world of refinement and fascination, where every moment celebrates the art of perfomance and the elegance of the night. 

Social n°2 : Some nights are not merely lived, they are woven, thread by thread, as the hours unfold. The Silk Weavers invite you to a place where the spirit of the Lyonnais Canuts comes to life. Between drapes of silk and candlelit glows, every detail celebrates the art of weaving beauty itself. 

Social n°3 : The Seventh Art invites you behind the scenes of a night where time seems to stand still, where dreams take shape and where every moment feels lifted from a film set. In the shimmer of the lights, reality fades, giving way to the magic of cinema. Between glamour and cinephile passion, everyone becomes the protagonist. For one evening, let yourself be swept away and live the film of your own life.
