The Geneva International Model United Nations, or GIMUN, is a five-day conference held every February in Geneva, the international capital of diplomacy and international relations. Created in 1991, it is the oldest university-level MUN conference in Switzerland, and one of the oldest in Europe. It strikes the perfect balance between a professional atmosphere and social interaction among the delegates. GIMUN will bring together young ambitious students from all over the world to discover new solutions to conflicting global ideals and national interests. Our committees are interesting and inspiring for beginner and veteran MUNers alike, and our cultural events and guest speakers are just as much part of the conference as the sessions.
This edition will take place from 09.02.2026-13.02.2026, in International Geneva: a small area within the city, yet the place where many international and non-governmental organizations, civil society, and the private sector converge alike to make decisions that shape the course of history. To highlight the city's multilateral heart, multilingualism makes a strong comeback in this edition, featuring English, French, and Spanish, thanks to our dedicated translation and interpreting teams. One committee in Spanish, one in French, one bilingual English-French, a multilingual Press Corps, the rest in English… the choice is yours!
This year’s theme reflects the complexity and emerging challenges arising from the fast-paced changes we are witnessing in real time in international affairs. The order of the international system, as well as the role of international organizations in multilateral diplomacy, is both evolving and being increasingly questioned. Will you be the one to make an impact?
Get ready to step into the shoes of a diplomat, make your voice heard, and forge connections that will last well beyond the conference!
The participation fee will include the following:
- Goodies
- Coffee breaks during debate session days
- Lunches during debate session days
- Access to all socials
