About the committee

The International Press Corps are a specialised group of journalists that document the events happening within members of the United Nations and their committees. This is an essential part of modern politics, as it keeps the public aware of the decisions being made within the UN and its committees, and keeps the bodies and their representatives accountable. A daring duo of Editors in Chief will assemble, organise and lead an expert team of journalists to report on the goings on of the various committees in GIMUN, mainly in English but also in French and even Spanish all to produce a daily journal for all GIMUN participants that will be translated with the help of GIMUN’s star translation team.

The GIMUN 2026 chair's choice committee is the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). It also conducts and coordinates international relief and works amid war and peace. The ICRC also undertakes other tasks, such as visiting political prisoners outside of conflict and providing relief in natural disasters. The organization's work has been recognized with three Nobel prizes.
