Reevaluating the Role of the Antarctic Treaty System in Addressing Geopolitical, Environmental, and Scientific Challenges on the Continent.

About the committee

With rising global interest in Antarctica’s unique strategic, scientific, and economic significance, the international community faces pressing questions about how to manage the continent responsibly. Issues such as uncontrolled tourism, potential large-scale resource extraction (post 2048), and overlapping territorial claims are major issues that are putting the current governance frameworks to the test. At the same time, major powers such as the United States and Russia, do not recognize the Antarctic Treaty System and consider it an ungoverned territory, raising concerns about future disputes over sovereignty and access. As climate change accelerates environmental transformations and opens new navigation routes, reevaluating current policies is essential to prevent militarization, protect fragile ecosystems, and ensure that Antarctica remains a peaceful region.

Meeting 1,382 - 22 November 1967 - Addressing the territorial disputes as an aftermath of the Six Day War

About the committee

1967 - The Middle East once again ruptures into all out conflict! Arab coalition forces, comprising of soldiers from Egypt, Syria, Jordan and Iraq, are struck by a preemptive crushing areal bombardment by the Israeli airforce. After six days of fighting, the Israeli army comes out strategicially victorious, occupying the Sinai Peninsula, Gaza Strip, West Bank and Golan Heights under the so called Israeli Military Governate. Both sides agree to a temporary ceasefire, but tensions remain high. Five months later, it is up to the United Nations Security Council to mediate further peace talks, resolve the issue of Israeli occupation and maybe, just maybe, establish permanent stability in the Levant.

About the committee

In the Star Wars Universe, the Galactic Senate is the most impactful legislative and governing body of the Republic. Having found itself in a crisis and having failed to end it, the Galactic Senate must face the threat of a galaxy-wide war against the Confederacy of Independent Systems (CIS). With the rapid growth and production of the droid army, which the CIS utilises, the Galactic Senate is met with the proposal of creating a Grand Army of the Republic. Despite this, pacifist movements still exist within the Senate and the proposal is met with both praise and oppostition.

The Committee will be reflecting a genuine NATO summit. The leaders meets together, combine their ideas in order to prolong the stability and peace. NATO provides the ability not only to become one out the most influential NATO members, but as individuals take part in brief, comprehensive, and sometimes, precarious discussions. Your word have a value, in NATO it is deeply expressed. This committee will explore the expansion of NATO’s nuclear capabilities in response to rising global threats. With growing tensions in Europe, especially due to Russia’s nuclear threats, delegates will debate whether more NATO countries, such as those in the Baltics, should gain access to nuclear weapons, and who should provide them. The topic is timely, controversial, and encourages deep discussion on global security, deterrence, and alliance dynamics.

About the committee

Gender pay gap has been an ongoing issue for many decades. The matter still persists to be a rising concern, especially in sports. Until the US Open Tennis in 1973, not a single sport had recognised both genders equally. Despite the countless efforts put in for many decades, a considerable number of female athletes have been undergoing significant financial difficulties which not only severely lessen their chances to compete as an athlete, but also abate women’s economic security, career prospects, and well-being as a whole. Should this problem remain inextricable as a reflection of gender inequality, or is it possible to resolve such issues by reaching a mutually agreed upon solution?

Examining the phasing out of nicotine products with emphasis on world economies.

About the committee

There are many serious health issues caused by nicotine products such as conventional cigarettes or newer substitutes like vapes and heated tobacco. Eliminating these goods has become a top concern as the international community advances their efforts to reduce nicotine dependence. In many low- and middle-income nations, the nicotine industry makes a significant contribution to commerce, employment and income taxes. This committee must therefore include the socioeconomic effects on both national and international economies while assessing the viability and effects of phase-outs of nicotine products.
