Community Beyond Borders
QMUN VI
The Queen Mary United Nations Society are delighted to invite you to QMUN 2027, the sixth iteration of our annual conference!
This year’s theme is “Community Beyond Borders”, a theme we're particularly passionate about. The idea of community has always been fundamental to human nature, but it's become increasingly significant nowadays: as we find ourselves in an era shaped by global challenges and political division, the need to build community across identities, cultures and backgrounds has never been more important.
“Community Beyond Borders” reflects the idea that diplomacy is not only built through the dialogue of governments and institutions, but also through a shared sense of humanity. These values are at the very heart of what we all do in MUN, even when we don't realise. Through MUN, we remind ourselves that actual change is possible- but it's only possible when people are willing to listen to one another, beyond trivial boundaries.
Our theme encourages us to move beyond the frightening norms of hatred and division we see in today's news, and to instead seek change through real and meaningful cooperation. While we obviously can't change the world with one simple conference, we can start building a foundation for a future where the divisions and boundaries between our communities come down, and we unite through our humanity. Despite our differences, we all bleed the same, and share a common goal.
For the first time in our history, QMUN will host seven committees instead of six. From common committees to niche ones, like the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space, we've got something for every delegate. We're also thrilled to reintroduce Crisis to QMUN, bringing it back for the first year since 2025.
We hope to see you in January!
