"Speaking for the Silenced: A Global Commitment for Marginalized and Vulnerable
Populations"
â
Honorable Chairs, Fellow Delegates,
The JCUMUN Secretariat welcomes you all to our 15th JCU Model United Nations Conference! The strength of diplomacy is not measured by being the loudest in the room, but by the ability to listen to those who often go unheard. Increasingly, individuals and communities are subject to displacement, discrimination, and erasure from political and social life. We must remember that every meaningful change begins with a conversation. Therefore, we invite you all to join us in our theme of âSpeaking for the Silencedâ at an especially prevalent time for marginalized and vulnerable voices. As the next generation of political leaders, let us reimagine a future that is committed to human rights and dignity for all.
To make this possible, we are offering a range of committees to accommodate varying levels of experience: four Entry Level Committees, three Intermediate Level Committees, and three Advanced Level Committees. Our beginner committees UNICEF, CSW, and UNESCO, highlight how children, women, cultures, and even entire nations can be denied the protections they deserve. At the intermediate level, SPECPOL, UNOOSA, and IOM challenge delegates to face socio-political conflict, economic inequality, and the struggles of migrants. For our advanced delegates, the Crisis Committee, the Security Council, and the Historical Committee examines moments where the costs of exclusion are the most severe. We are reminded that history only repeats itself when society fails to listen. Ultimately, we hope delegates not only sharpen their skills in these halls of debate, but also reflect on the responsibility of diplomacy: to recognize, to listen, and to give space to the vulnerable. To those interested, Chair applications are set to open Monday, September 22nd. Delegate applications will prospectively open on October 15th (subject to change).
We, the 2025 Secretariat, thank you kindly for your interest and consideration of our conference.
Signed,
2025 JCUMUN Secretariat Team
