Marina Tovar Velasco

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span lang="EN-GB" style="">I am Marina, an 19-year-old Spaniard living in Barcelona, Spain. I feel the need to grow as a person enriching my knowledge, language and learning from people that are working, that is why I participate in the MUNs. Moreover, these opportunities will provide me with a huge opportunity of having international exposure and a multicultural perspective. </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span lang="EN-GB" style="">I’m cursing International Relations and this type of experience could help me to get to know more stuff related to the degree I am currently coursing and give me a better approach to what real experience as a diplomat would be. I love everything about communication, photography and film making. I have as well a high interest in debating, especially international debates. Aside from university, I attend two groups of debate. One of them is the Law debate team in which we debate with students from other universities at a regional and national level. At the same time, I coordinate another debate group called UNANIMUM, as I am the secretary general that is based in the MUN model.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span lang="EN-GB" style="">During my time as a student, I have been working as a volunteer for an NGO coordinating a team of four people and teaching them the necessary techniques for looking for new partners. I enjoy working with people and know how to deal with conflicts. I can adjust easily to fit into any work environment and have no problem working as part of a team. I can also function individually by taking the initiative and the responsibility to accomplish tasks on my own. I can perform equally well in any environment and cope effectively with the stresses of reaching a deadline. I am quick to adapt to new situations and enjoy challenges in my work. </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span lang="EN-GB" style="">My other activities and interests include listening to music, watching movies and series and spending time with my friends and family. I enjoy sports, especially Yoga and boxing. Reading is also an important part of my life since most of the information that I use in my degree comes from books that we are sent to read, but I try to read other books related with the genres I like, especially mystery.</span><span style="font-size: 1rem;">&nbsp;</span></p>
