Addresing the Rising Use of Narco-submarines in Transcontinental Drug Trafficking Operations.

About the committee

The increasing use of narco-submarines by transnational criminal organizations has become one of the most significant challenges to international maritime security and global law enforcement, especially in terms of tackling drug-trafficking. Criminals are utilising narco-submarines, ranging from low-profile vessels that travel just above the waterline, to fully submersible craft, which are designed to evade radar, aerial surveillance, and naval patrols. The construction and simplicity of these machines enables them to transport large quantities of illicit drugs across oceans. Originally these submarines were associated with cocaine trafficking from South America to North America, but nowadays they are also being detected on routes leading to Southern Europe, West Africa, and other remote regions, such as Australia, demonstrating the global reach of organized crime connected with drugs of different kinds. Delegates will have to cooperate in order to propose solid solutions allowing to detect in early stages attempts to conduct a smuggling operation using these machines, evaluate the effectiveness of existing counter-narcotics strategies, and propose ways to further curb the prevalence of drug trafficking.

Recreation of the 2026 Ankara Summit of Heads of State and Heads of Government.

About the committee

For the first time ever on Polish MUNs, we are doing a recreation of an actual recent real life NATO summit of Heads of State and Heads of Government - that being the Ankara Summit, held in Ankara, Turkey, between the 7th and the 8th of July 2026. This summit comes at a very important moment for the Alliance - amidst the War in Ukraine, internal divisions within NATO, and a growing need for an increase in defense spending. In this unique and new format of NATO, the delegates will have the unique chance of taking inspiration from actual speeches made by actual heads of state at this summit, and the topics will be those actually discussed at the conference, instead of discussing only one specific topic, we will discuss many. We will also have some very interesting observers, that being the representatives of the EU, Ukraine, and even South Korea. To make the committee even more professional and fun, we have a custom made ROP.

The Amazon Basin is crucial for global climate regulation, with its rivers and evapotranspiration systems influencing weather patterns across continents. It's been described as the beating heart of the earth's living system. However, the rainforest is at a tipping point of collapse due to deforestation and prolonged droughts, exacerbated by human activities. Urgent action is needed and indigenous people are in a strong position to protect this critical ecosystem.

Addressing Regulatory Gaps in Protecting Minors from Loot Boxes and Gambling-Like Mechanisms in the Digital Environment.

About the committee

In today’s digital world, the global nature and accessibility of the Internet allow online services and platforms to bypass or operate outside existing regulations designed to protect children. Despite growing international awareness, loot boxes and other gambling-like online mechanisms continue to expose minors to risks involving financial harm, addictive behaviour, and manipulation. It creates significant regulatory gaps across jurisdictions. Although existing human rights and consumer protection frameworks provide some safeguard measures, they do not effectively protect children due to the absence of the global regulations directly aimed at addressing the given issue. Another challenge is the use of legal loopholes to promote online casinos. Large companies fund advertising campaigns that help streamers promote gambling during livestreams, even when such promotion is restricted or banned.

Neurotechnology is rapidly developing, with devices such as brain-computer interfaces and wearable technologies increasingly capable of collecting sensitive neural data. Unlike traditional personal information, neural data may reveal aspects of a person’s thoughts, emotions, health and behavior, creating new risks surrounding privacy, consent, security and commercialization. As countries develop different approaches to regulating these technologies, there is a growing need for international standards that protect individuals while allowing responsible innovation.

Addressing the Exploitation of Women Workers in the Fast Fashion Industry.

About the committee

In recent years, fast fashion has become very popular due to its accessibility and affordability, while its true cost is being overlooked: the suffering and silenced voices of millions of workers worldwide, the overwhelming majority of whom are women and girls. Unsafe working conditions, exhausting hours, inadequate wages, exploitation, and child labour are among the existing issues which are commonplace in the industry. However, the crux of the issue is that consumers are often aware of these abuses, yet they still continue to support the fast fashion industry, prioritising low prices and convenience over ethical considerations.
