    About the committee

UN Women is a body under the United Nations dedicated to gender equality and women's empowerment. To achieve these goals, it works with governments, local bodies, and civil society. Child marriage is one of the leading causes of human rights violations in Western and Central Africa. The socio-economic impacts of child marriage in these areas threaten Africa's development. This committee focuses on devising strategies to counter child marriage and its impacts.

Deliberation on the Development and Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction with Special Emphasis on the Iran Nuclear Deal

    About the committee

DISEC is a primary UN body. Its objectives include ensuring international peace, controlling arms and weapons, and regulating weapons of mass destruction.  Weapons of Mass Destruction are one of the leading factors compromising international peace. Iranian nuclear ambitions have long been a focus of international diplomacy. In 2015, Iran concluded a nuclear agreement, the JCPOA, to restrict its nuclear program in response to accusations of development of nuclear weapons. However, the U.S. withdrawal from the JCPOA and Iranian violations cast doubt on the deal's future. Thus, delegates must work together to devise a stronger resolution to guarantee non-proliferation in the future.
