HNMUN-LA 2027

HNMUN-LA is the Latin American extension of the renowned Harvard National Model United Nations, the world’s oldest and most recognized university-level United Nations simulation.

HNMUN-LA 2027 is organized in partnership between the Harvard International Relations Council (IRC), Asociación Panameña de Debate (ASPADE), and World Debate Consulting (WDC).

Since 2012, HNMUN-LA has provided an academically rigorous environment for high school and university students to debate regional and global issues, hosted in major cities across Latin America. 

The 2027 edition, held in Panama City, will bring together participants from more than 15 countries, offering a comprehensive program that includes committee sessions in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, expert-led workshops, and a full schedule of social and cultural activities.

All delegates who select the Residential Package benefit from accommodation at the official conference hotel, local transportation, meals, and travel insurance. Participants can expect a highly organized, international experience with a full schedule of academic activities and social events, designed to foster debate, critical thinking, and professional networking.

Application Phases

Priority Registration:
First payment before June 30th, 2026. Allows payment in three installments. Committee and position assignments provided before October 15th, 2026.

General Registration:
Open until October 31st, 2026. Payment in two installments.

Late Registration:
Open from November 1st, 2026, until December 20th, 2026. Delegations registering during this period will incur a Late Delegation Fee of $300 (compared to $100 for Priority and General Registration). Delegates and delegations registering during the late window must pay in a single installment.

• Note: Individual delegates registering without a delegation benefit from a 60% discount on the Delegation Fee.

Conference Fees and Packages

HNMUN-LA 2027 offers two participation packages to accommodate the needs of delegations:

Residential Fee — $1,500 USD per participant

Required for all international high school delegations. Optional for university and local high school delegations.

Includes:

• Access to all academic programing
• Accommodation at the official conference hotel (6 nights, triple occupancy room)
• Breakfast included, plus 6 lunches and 5 dinners (One free afternoon/dinner covered by the delegation)
• Local transportation (airport and event transfers)
• Access to all official conference social events
• Travel insurance

Non-Residential Fee — $300 USD per participant

Available for university delegations and local high school delegations only.

Includes:

• Access to all debate sessions
• Lunch provided only on debate session days (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday)
• Access to all official conference social events
• No accommodation, breakfast, dinner or Next Generation workshops included

Additional Fees

Delegation Fee:

• $100 USD per delegation (covers processing and assignments)
• Late Registration: $300 USD
• Single-delegate delegations receive a 60% discount

Faculty Advisor Fee:

• $80 USD per non-residential faculty advisor
• Waived for residential delegations
