Lead with Purpose
GLASMUN26 marks the next chapter in the University of Glasgow’s Model United Nations Conference , bringing together students from across Scotland, the UK and beyond for a weekend of rigorous debate, diplomatic creativity, and global engagement. Based in one of Scotland’s most historic and vibrant cities, this edition of GLASMUN invites delegates to step into the shoes of world leaders, advocates, and policymakers as they confront some of the most pressing challenges of the international system.
This year’s conference features three Superb committees, each designed to offer a distinct style of debate and a unique focus. Whether delegates are seasoned MUN veterans or first‑time participants, GLASMUN 2026 provides an environment that is both accessible and intellectually demanding, encouraging negotiation, public speaking, and problem‑solving. The confrence fee also includes three socials including but not limited to our ceilidh and pub golf course.
The UN Women committee will explore issues at the intersection of gender, development, and human rights. Delegates will be tasked with tackling structural inequalities, emerging threats to women’s safety and autonomy, and the global effort to advance gender equality. With topics that demand both empathy and strategic thinking, this committee challenges participants to craft solutions that are inclusive, sustainable, and grounded in lived realities.
Our House of Commons (HoC) committee offers a fast‑paced, distinctly British parliamentary experience. Delegates will take on the roles of MPs navigating party politics, public scrutiny, and the complexities of legislative decision‑making. The HoC committee is ideal for those who enjoy spirited debate, sharp rhetoric, and the challenge of balancing constituency interests with national priorities. Expect lively exchanges, shifting alliances, and the thrill of parliamentary procedure in action.
Finally, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) provides the highest‑stakes forum of the conference. Tasked with maintaining international peace and security, delegates will confront crises that demand swift action, diplomatic finesse, and a deep understanding of geopolitical dynamics. With the power of the veto and the weight of global responsibility, the UNSC offers an intense, immersive experience for delegates ready to test their strategic and analytical abilities.
Across all committees, GLASMUN 2026 is committed to fostering a welcoming, academically rich environment. Delegates can look forward to well‑researched background guides, supportive chairs, and a social programme that showcases the best of Glasgow’s culture and community. We invite you to join us for a weekend of debate, discovery, and diplomacy at GLASMUN 2026.
The conference will take place in the University of Glasgow Campus (G12 7BB) with a social for each night including our pub golf route and Ceilidh, more information on logistics can be found in our delegate handbook.
