Building a Better World Together

The World Diplomatic Conference, (WDC) is the largest and most prestigious gathering of young diplomats from around the world. In 2023, the conference will bring together delegates from over 10 countries to engage in lively debate and diplomacy on a range of global issues.

The theme of the 2023 conference is "Building a Better World Together". Participants will have the opportunity to represent countries from every corner of the globe and work towards finding collaborative solutions to some of the world's most pressing problems. Delegates will engage in debates on a range of topics, including climate change, international security, human rights, and economic development.

Throughout the conference, delegates will engage in a variety of activities designed to foster diplomacy and communication, including committee sessions, lobbying, and resolution writing. Participants will also have the opportunity to attend workshops and keynote speeches by distinguished diplomats, experts, and thought leaders.

In addition to the rigorous intellectual challenge of the conference, delegates will also have the opportunity to experience the culture of the host city and network with fellow young leaders from around the world.     About the committee

    The UNEP was founded in 1972 after the culmination of the landmark UN Conference on the Human Environment. It was conceived to be the primary global watchdog for climate action and resilience, while also monitoring the state of the environment, inform policy making with science and coordinate responses to the world's environmental challenges. The United Nations Environment Program, better known as the UNEP is one of the primary intergovernmental organisations working in the international sphere with respect to spearheading global climate change efforts and mitigation processes. It is very rightly touted as being one of the key organisations in the international spectrum which works towards actually achieving climate change goals set by nations and other parties alike. It must be noted here that the mandate of the UNEP doesn’t allow it to be an organisation with the powers to issue binding resolutions, meaning that nations can in no way be forced to adopt what the program recommends.

It is composed of representatives from all 193 member states of the UN and meets once a year in September at the UN headquarters in New York City. It also approves the UN budget and elects members to various UN bodies, including the Security Council. Each member state of the UNGA has one vote, regardless of its size or population, and decisions are made by a two-thirds majority of the members present and voting.
