Voluntary Students Model United Nations (VSMUN) is a one-day online conference created by delegates, for delegates, designed for participants of all experience levels.

VSMUN follows the structure of a traditional MUN while maintaining a focused, efficient, and interactive academic environment. Delegates will engage in formal debate, motion writing, resolution drafting, lobbying, and procedural applications in a realistic simulation setting.

What makes VSMUN distinct is its academic accessibility. Chairs are not only moderators but active academic resources—delegates are encouraged to ask questions, seek guidance, and fully engage throughout the process. This ensures a clear, supportive, and confidence-building experience for all participants.

As a fully online conference, VSMUN combines structure, seriousness, and accessibility, allowing delegates to gain meaningful MUN experience within a single day.

Only delegates who meet the 75% attendance requirement will receive a participation certificate and a personalized feedback from chairs and organizers if requested.

    About the committee

Outer space is no longer controlled by governments only. Beside established space programmes, private companies are launching satellites, developing spacecraft, planning lunar missions and becoming increasingly involved in activities that were once almost entirely led by countries. Existing international space law was created during a very different era, which raises questions about whether the current framework is enough to deal with the rapidly changing nature of space activity. This committee would focus on the legal and diplomatic challenges created by both state and non-state cooperations in outer space. Delegates could discuss issues such as commercial space activities, private lunar exploration, the use of space resources, satellite operations, liability for damage, space debris and the responsibilities of states for activities carried out by private entities under their jurisdiction. Rather than focusing only on whether space should remain peaceful, the committee would examine a broader question: how can international law keep up with the increasing number of actors operating beyond Earth? Delegates would have to balance national interests, commercial innovation and technological development with international cooperation, accountability and the long-term sustainability of outer space.

As Voluntary Students Program, we like to make sure our delegates get the best quality service in our conferences. Which is why we have a 5 experience limit for our chair applicants. However, that doesn't mean we don't have any chairing opportunities for newbies. Meet Training Chairs. Their main job is to observe and learn with the help of our Support Chairs. Anyone can apply. We do have very limited spots.
