VICMUN Winter Edition 2025

We're happy to announce that we're organizing a Winter Edition of VICMUN in February 2025! 💙

For 2 days students get the chance to step into the shoes of diplomats and debate on the topic of Outer Space 🪐🚀

Thursday, 27 February

• 08:30 - 09:30 AM: Individual Arrival & Conference Registration 

Please bring your passport for the registration.

Clubrooms of UNA-Austria/ÖGAVN (Hofburg/Stallburg - Imperial Palace Vienna)

Reitschulgasse 2/2nd floor, 1010 Vienna, Austria

(The entrance is a small brown wooden door under the arcades of Stallburg in Reitschulgasse, close to the corner Bräunerstraße /           Reitschulgasse. We are on the 2nd floor (right side), where you will find a blue shoe mat with the UN logo.)

• 09:30 - 10:30 AM: Opening Ceremony (with Bernd Hermann, Secretary General of UNA-Austria, Gregor Woschnagg, fr. Austrian Ambassador, Permanent Representative to UNEP and UN-HABITAT, Sidra Alnouri, Head of VICMUN Academics Team, Daniela Tscharf, Assistant to the Secretary General of UNA-Austria and VICMUN Coordinator)
• 10:30 – 11:00 AM: Coffee break
• 11:00 - 12:30 AM: Committee Sessions 
• 12:30 AM – 01:30 PM: Individual lunch break (at your own expense)
• 01:30 – 02:45 PM: Committee Sessions 
• 02:45 - 03:00 PM: Coffee break
• 03:00 - 04:30 PM: Lecture and Q&A by an UNOOSA expert
• 04:30 - 05:30 PM: Dinner snack (at the Clubrooms)
• 06:00 PM: Lecture by Angela Kane, fr. UN High Representative for Disarmament Affairs and Under-Secretary-General for Management in the United Nations
• 07:30 PM: Reception & networking opportunity with other Young Professionals

Friday, 28 February

• 08:30 AM - 12:00 AM: Committee Sessions 
• 12:00 AM – 02:00 PM: Visit to the United Nations Headquarters at Vienna (VIC)
• 02:00 – 03:30 PM: Committee Sessions 
• 03:30 - 04:00 PM: Coffee break
• 04:00 - 05:00 PM: Closing & Award Ceremony

Since the UN Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) and its committee dealing exclusively with international cooperation in the peaceful uses of outer space Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS) is headquartered in the Vienna International Centre (VIC), Vienna serves as a key hub for the international space diplomacy community. This is why we've decided to offer 2 days of MUN, fully focused on Outer Space!
