The Sino-Foreign Model United Nations Conference (SFMUN) will be an annual academic simulation of the United Nations, established through a partnership among Duke Kunshan University, New York University Shanghai, Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, and the University of Nottingham Ningbo China. Hosting responsibilities will rotate among the partner institutions each year.
The inaugural edition, SFMUN 2025, will be hosted by Duke Kunshan University from October 17–19, and is expected to convene 100–150 university students for three days of residential engagement in diplomatic negotiation, policy dialogue, and multilateral cooperation.
Held under the theme “Youth Voices, Global Choices,” the conference will aim to foster global awareness, intercultural exchange, and leadership in international affairs through structured simulations of United Nations bodies.
