NOMUNII 2027

Return. Belong. Rebuild. To return is one thing. To belong again once you are back, and to rebuild what was lost in the meantime, is the slower and heavier work. NOMUN 2027, the flagship conference of the Nordic Diplomacy Initiative, opens that work across four committees, each looking at a different edge of the same problem.

The UNESCO General Conference takes up the return and restitution of cultural property to the countries it was taken from. SOCHUM turns to displaced children who risk growing up with no nationality to belong to. SPECPOL considers the humanitarian mine action that has to come before refugees and displaced people can safely go home. And the Historical CSCE of 1992 walks with the Crimean Tatars as they return to a Crimea already remade without them.

Eighty seats across four committees, with rooms built for first time delegates finding their voice and rooms that will challenge experienced negotiators. Two days online, on 30 and 31 January 2027, free to attend and open to school and university students worldwide. Chair applications run from 1 September 2026 to 1 January 2027, and delegate applications from 1 October 2026 to 1 January 2027.

NOMUN 2027 is organized and run by the Nordic Diplomacy Initiative, and guided by the Nordic values we hold to in every room: fairness, calm, openness and rigour. Delegates here will not just debate the future. They will help negotiate it.
