Addressing the Economic Impact of Unpaid Care Work

    About the committee

Unpaid care work forms the foundation of resilient and sustainable economies, yet it remains significantly undervalued and largely invisible. The burden of this work falls disproportionately on women and girls, limiting their access to education, formal employment, and financial autonomy, thereby perpetuating systemic gender inequality. Effectively addressing this challenge demands a coordinated international response that not only acknowledges the economic value of unpaid care but also enacts regulatory frameworks to protect caregivers and promote an equitable distribution of care responsibilities.

Securing Peace Beyond Earth: Addressing the Deployment of Military Infrastructure in Outer Space

    About the committee

As global divisions deepen and tensions rise, the risk of conflict is expanding beyond our planet. With more nations developing military capabilities in space, the need for clear rules and peaceful cooperation is urgent. This year’s topic invites delegates to explore how diplomacy can prevent outer space from becoming a new battleground of rivalry. Delegates will confront the rising tensions of space militarization and forge pathways to preserve peace in a highly contested domain.

Combating Piracy and Ensuring Freedom of Navigation in the Indo-Pacific: Enhancing ASEAN’s Role in Maritime Security Cooperation

    About the committee

ASEAN, as the principal international organisation in Southeast Asia, should maintain peace and security in the region. With current geopolitical shifts, its role in ensuring maritime security, in particular, cannot be understated. That is precisely why ASEAN+ - incorporating all ASEAN members, the +3 framework, and other relevant state actors in the Indo-Pacific - will examine principles of international maritime law, consider confidence-building measures among ASEAN member states, explore the expansion of joint patrol mechanisms in the Indo-Pacific, and, finally, assert its role in the international community at a time where it stands at a critical juncture.

Moldova 1990 - Shatters of Glasnost

    About the committee

This crisis, touching upon the 1990 Transnistria War, operates as a bicameral committee, comprising two distinct cabinets. Each cabinet will pursue its own strategic objectives, while the individuals within them pursue personal ambitions—all within the broader context of the overarching crisis. Success will depend on both individual initiative and cooperative problem-solving across chambers. Delegates must engage in persuasive diplomacy, build alliances, and negotiate effectively to advance both personal and collective agendas.

NATO Deterrence and Defence of the High North

    About the committee

Accelerating Arctic ice-melt is opening new sea lanes and exposing untapped mineral deposits, prompting Moscow to refurbish Soviet-era bases from Murmansk to Franz Josef Land. Meanwhile, China’s self-declared “near-Arctic” ambitions raise questions about dual-use research stations and spy balloons over Svalbard. The admission of Finland and Sweden necessitates a coherent Allied posture in the High North—yet existing plans rely on Cold-War maps, limited sealift, and overstretched air-defence. This committee's goal is a modernised Northern Flank strategy blending deterrence, climate security, and great-power competition.
