  • Harry Potter - Ministry of Magic

    21 seats · Expert · English
The Ministry of Magic was formed as a successor to the earlier Wizards' Council. It was involved, in some capacity before its actual formation, in the International Confederation of Wizards' decision to enact the Statute of Secrecy in 1692, which undertook the responsibility of enforcing said Statute in the United Kingdom. The laws against magic-use by underage wizards and against wand use by non-wizard folk were also enforced by the Ministry, in part to maintain secrecy.

  • UNHRC - Child Marriage

    47 seats · Beginner · English
20% of girls around the world marry before the age of 18. In the world’s poorest locales, the least developed countries (LDCs), this number rises to 40%, with 12% married before the age of 12. Such marriages harm the mental and physical health of girls, prevent them from finishing their education and ability to get jobs, and perpetuate socio-economic gaps. The Human Rights Council will tackle this issue impacting 12 million girls a year.
