About
Debates. Ideas. Solutions.
Greetings international delegates,
Welcome to the fourteenth Global Virtual Model United Nations Conference (GVMUNC), hosted on August 15th, and based in Bridgewater, New Jersey! Join us for the day as we introduce ideas, debate solutions, and finally implement resolutions. Participate in a growing international committee of diplomacy and discussion, and prove your skills as a Model UN delegate.
For this iteration, GVMUN is offering delegates the option between two different committees, ranging from beginner to advanced. They are as follows:
- United Nations Development Program (UNDP) - Beginner - Delegates in this committee will represent all UN member states, and will debate “Financing the SDG Recovery” and “Harnessing Digital Transformation as a Catalyst for Inclusive Human Development”
- Historical Crisis Committee (HCC) Eurozone Crisis - Advanced - This committee is set in the year 2010, and delegates will assume control of various nations as they navigate the Eurozone Crisis in a timeline where it goes global.
______________________________________________________________
Each committee will have three awards, as follows:
- Best Delegate - 1
- Outstanding Delegate - 1
- Best Research and Preparation - 1
Note that a position paper, while not required, is strongly suggested for award eligibility. Delegates must research their topic thoroughly and prepare for the committee. Additionally, make sure to check the UNA-USA rules of procedure (RoP), and reach out to us if you have any questions. Our email is: secretariat@gvmun.com
Additionally, please follow our Instagram @gvmun_official to support us and receive updates
We hope to see you on August 15th for a day of collaboration, debate, and solutions.
Regards,
Ayushmaan Mukherjee and Jackson Dorris

UN Development Program (UNDP)
195 seats · Beginner · EnglishThe United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is the UN's lead agency for sustainable development, operating in over 170 countries to eradicate poverty, reduce inequality, and strengthen resilient governance. Mandated to advance the 2030 Agenda, UNDP supports governments in translating global commitments into national action across economic growth, climate resilience, and digital transformation. The agency identifies structural barriers to development and builds internationally coordinated responses that address the root causes of inequality and fragility. At GVMUNC XIV, delegates will represent all UN Member States in a policy-driven environment that balances normative frameworks with practical implementation. Discussions will center on mobilizing sustainable development financing to close the post-2030 funding gap, and on harnessing digital transformation as a tool for inclusive human development. Delegates will be required to negotiate across diverse political, economic, and regional contexts, engaging international development law, macroeconomic policy, and emerging technology governance.
Eurozone Crisis
195 seats · Expert · EnglishThe Eurozone Crisis Committee places delegates in the midst of a rapidly escalating sovereign debt emergency threatening the cohesion of Europe’s monetary union, which spills over to the entire world. As borrowing costs surge, public finances deteriorate, and confidence in the Euro falters, national governments face intense pressure from financial markets and domestic voters. What begins as a fiscal imbalance quickly becomes a political test of solidarity and credibility. At GVMUNC XIV, delegates will represent national governments, each tasked with defending domestic economic stability while negotiating collective responses to a crisis that respects no borders. Leaders must weigh bailout commitments, austerity measures, and fiscal coordination against political backlash at home and the risk of contagion abroad. With time running out and trust fraying, the choices governments make will determine whether the Eurozone emerges more integrated or fractures under the strain.
International Press
4 seats · Expert · EnglishMembers of the International Press Committee will serve as journalists, reporting on the proceedings of the conference and interviewing both delegates and chairs. Press releases will be published to our website and Instagram.
