Dear Delegates, Faculty Advisors, and fellow members of the MUN community,

On behalf of our Executive Team and the Secretariat, it is my great pleasure to invite you to the 8th edition of Gimnazija Bežigrad Model United Nations Conference. We are excited to once again host national and international delegates from all over the world.

GimBMUN VIII is a three-day simulation of the United Nations, aimed at fostering public speaking, critical thinking and cooperation skills in high school students (ages 14-19), as well as allowing them to explore and gain an appreciation for global diplomacy and the understanding of current global problems. In light of 2027 being recognised as the Year of “Preventive Diplomacy”, we have adopted this principle as the overarching theme for the eighth edition of our conference. Accordingly, issues related to the prevention, mitigation, and limitation of armed and non‑armed conflicts will serve as a common thread across all committees and conference events.

Furthermore, while the academic component of the conference is crucial, a large and memorable part of attending MUN conferences is the opportunity to meet new people and build new friendships. While you will spend most of your time with delegates from your committee, you will also have an opportunity to meet everyone in more informal settings.
