GEARMUN 2023

Dear delegates,

It is with immense honour and pride that we welcome you to the second edition of GEARMUN. As individuals who have witnessed this event being created and built from the ground up, we feel privileged to host you all as the Secretariat for this conference. 

In a world beset with a plethora of global challenges, ranging from climate change and geopolitical tensions to humanitarian crises, these challenges demand nothing less than your utmost dedication, creativity, and diplomacy. As delegates, you are tasked with representing nations and important portfolios and are made to make certain decisions. These decisions may have no real impact outside of the committee, but the skills you learn and the perspective you gain are unparalleled. Your knowledge of international law, current affairs and politics will reach a new zenith. 

To quote Dante, "The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." As your Secretariat, we hope that you will be able to find your place in committee to express and assert your intellectual thoughts, opinions and perspectives. It is our duty to create a space where you can foster knowledge, exchange wisdom and expand your horizons, and we look forward to witnessing the incredible debates, resolutions and friendships that will emerge from this conference.
