Heyy ! We are Agathe and Angèle and we will be your chairs for the Human Rights Council at the GDMUN25 ! This committee will address the question of how to safeguard and prioritize human rights thanks to long term measures following democratic values and ideals. Our modern world has to manage a lot of crisis at an international scale as well as multiple civil wars and internal conflits impacting directly civils in LICs and MICs. About the committee

Hi everyone! We are Juliette and Julian, two terminale students and we are really happy to chair the UNICEF committee this year ! We can't wait to hear you debate at GDMUN 2025 ! Our theme is “Climate change and its impact on children's health in affected countries”. Indeed, climate change has important impacts on children's health, notably increasing malnutrition, the propagation of infectious diseases but also creates climate-induced migration. In consequence, countries need to reflect on their emergency preparedness for climate related health crises but also on promoting sustainable healthcare infrastructure and funding for climate resilience programs.

Hi there delegates, We hope y’all are pumped for GDMUN ‘25 because we sure are! We’re Mira and Amy, and we can’t wait to hear what you have to say in the WHO committee this year! The WHO committee seeks to improve and strengthen healthcare worldwide, despite socioeconomic, geographical, and cultural borders. In the world today there are overwhelming inequalities, which correlate directly to the quality of care which people receive. Disease wreaks havoc on peoples’ lives, destroys families, and disintegrates fragile, delicate societies. However, measures exist to protect and heal its victims. Measures which aren’t made accessible to everyone. This years’ task is to determine whether or not they should be.

Spezifische Fragen der Frauengesundheit und der Rechte der Frauen

About the committee

“Hallo, wir sind Ondine und Rose, zwei Schülerinnen im ABIBAC, und wir freuen uns, das erste deutsche Komitee im GDMUN vorzustellen! Wir sehen uns dort!” Dieses Thema konzentriert sich auf die spezifischen Fragen der Gesundheit von Frauen und der internationalen Menschenrechte. In der Tat gibt es viele Themen, die nur Frauen betreffen: Genitalverstümmelung, Gewalt gegen Frauen, Schwangerschaftsfragen... und diese Themen werden manchmal vergessen oder verdrängt. Die Länder des Ausschusses sind von diesen Themen betroffen. Dementsprechend zielt unserer Ausschuss darauf ab, zu untersuchen, wie diese Länder und das internationale Recht die Gesundheitsversorgung für Frauen verbessert haben oder verbessern können und wie sie die Rechte der Frauen in Bezug auf diese spezifischen Fragen schützen.

About the committee

Hi everyone! We are Emmy and Louane and we are chairing this year’s UN Women committee ! It aims to guarantee more rights for women and reach gender equality. In GDMUN ‘25, the theme is : « Abortion and Reproductive Rights : Empowering Women Worldwide ». You will have to represent your country’s position regarding abortion and adopt a global point of view on the matter of women’s rights which are, in some parts of the world, neglected if not completely completely disregarded, contributing to the continuation of patriarchy and leaving millions of women without access to essential healthcare or the freedom to make decisions about their own bodies. We’re Juliette and Anouk, in première BFI. We're really impatient to chair a MUN for the first time ! The United Nations Environmental Program’s mission is to encourage sustainable development by working with countries, their populations and the private sector to address the most pressing environmental challenges. This committee will focus on the Amazonian rainforest. The delegates will consider environmental, social and economical actions and impacts. Facilitating and promoting fair and ethical supply chains of resources for less developed countries" focuses on ensuring that global trade practices respect human rights, uphold labor standards, and protect the environment. This involves improving transparency, enforcing fair labor conditions, and supporting sustainable practices throughout the supply chain. By empowering less developed countries with equitable access to trade opportunities and building local processing capabilities, ethical supply chains can drive economic growth, reduce exploitation, and foster long-term resilience in these regions. About the committee

Hi everyone! We're Milo and Clemente, chairing this year's UNHCR committee. The UNHCR committee will address the urgent issue of climate refugees, 80% of whom are located in Asia due to escalating environmental disasters. Delegates will develop strategies for protection, relocation, and legal recognition to support those displaced by climate change, including by discussing the possibility of the creation of an official climate refugees status. About the committee

Hello everyone, we are Emma and Eloïse, we are in Terminale and we will be chairing the Peace Building committee. The Middle East represents a permanent zone of conflict ever since the end of the Second World War (1945). This cultural and religious melting pot regroups Christians, Jewish, Shi'ite and Sunni Muslims. The region is of major strategic importance with the Suez Canal and the oil reserves in the Persian Gulf, which stirs up tensions. Identity confrontations added to the oppositions of the two main powers during the Cold War also contribute to rivalries in the region. Having experienced the GDMUN these last two years, we encourage all of you to take part in this amazing event. Hope to see you all soon!

This year’s ICJ will address the human, legal, and environmental challenges of contested claims over vital waterways and islands in the South China Sea. About the committee

The rise in synthetic drug manufacturing and distribution puts the topic of public health into question — With growing concerns surrounding over consumption and the methods of production and dealing, countries worldwide face the challenge of simultaneously ensuring their population’s health and safety, whilst implementing effective policies. Approaches to addressing drug use, distribution, and manufacturing vary widely between nations; with differing degrees of success. This year’s UNODC committee strives to settle this divide between a nation’s values and the public’s interest in the fight against drugs. Heya! About the committee

Hello! We are Diego and Alexandre, and are very excited to be chairing the Security Council this year. How to defend our principles of humanity facing the risks of dehumanised wars? This question was the core of the recent meetings of the security council. Modern conflicts, many ongoing nowadays, have the particularity to use new weapons and technologies for warfare. We can think of the massive use of drones in the war in Ukraine, or the methods used by Israel to locate and neutralise its targets. Modern technologies and scientific discoveries evolve everyday, carrying with them an increasing risk for international peace and human rights. So if you want to play an important role in the GDMUN 2024, register as delegates of the Security Council!

A government exercises power over its people, but because the people have human rights that power is limited. States are obliged to care about people’s basic needs and protect their freedoms.
