What are the TOPICS?

1. United Nations General Assembly (UNGA):

Topic: Addressing the Global Economic Impact of Artificial Intelligence and Automation

  • Description: Discuss the economic effects of AI and automation, focusing on job displacement, income inequality, and ensuring the benefits of AI are shared equitably.

2. United Nations Security Council (UNSC):

Topic: Preventing the Militarization of Space

  • Description: Debate measures to prevent an arms race in outer space, ensuring its peaceful use and maintaining global security.

3. Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ):

Topic: Combating Transnational Organized Crime in the Digital Age

  • Description: Address the challenges of cybercrime, human trafficking, and drug smuggling, focusing on international cooperation and updated legal frameworks.

4. United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC):

Topic: Protecting the Rights of Environmental Defenders and Indigenous Communities

  • Description: Discuss mechanisms to protect environmental defenders and indigenous communities facing human rights violations, with a focus on sustainable development.

  • Best Position Paper: Awarded to the delegate with the most outstanding position paper in each committee.
  • Most Outstanding Delegate: Recognizing delegates who excel in their roles in each committee.
  • Best Chair: Awarded to the top chair across all committees for their exceptional leadership.

  • Receive a comprehensive study guide to help you understand your committee’s topics, procedures, and the overall structure of the conference.

Position Paper & Resolution Policy:

1. Position Paper Submission:

  • Deadline: All position papers must be submitted before the conference begins. Failure to submit by the deadline will result in the loss of voting rights during the conference.
  • Plagiarism and AI Usage: Position papers will be checked for plagiarism and AI-generated content. If a position paper is found to have more than 20% AI or plagiarized content, it will:
    • Be ineligible for consideration as the Best Position Paper.
    • Result in the loss of voting rights during the conference.

2. Resolution Submission:

  • AI and Plagiarism Check: All resolutions must also have less than 20% AI or plagiarized content. If this threshold is exceeded, the resolution will:
    • Be disqualified from award considerations.
    • Result in the loss of voting rights for the submitting delegate(s).

3. Early Position Paper Review:

  • Deep Advice Option: One week before the position paper submission deadline, delegates can submit their position papers for a detailed review and receive personalized feedback to enhance their work.

4. Compliance and Integrity:

  • Delegates are expected to maintain the highest standards of academic integrity in their submissions. Any attempts to bypass these policies will be taken seriously and may result in further penalties.
