CamMUN 2027

Welcome future delegates, committee chairs and supervisors to CamMUN 2027!

CamMUN 2027 is an international, in-person MUN conference for 14-18 year olds in central Cambridge for three days from Friday 29th – Sunday 31st of January. Our theme is 'A Changing World Order: The UN's Moment of Reckoning', and our goal this year is to debate topics which highlight issues the world is facing. 

Our conference is held in the senior school site of Stephen Perse Cambridge and includes roughly 2 full days of debating, plus opening and closing ceremonies with prizes given to the highest performing delegates from each committee. 

When you apply, give preferences for your desired committee & country at CamMUN 2027. We have committees for all experience levels, ranging from beginner to expert. We ask that you apply to committees that match or are lower than your experience level so as to make the conference an enjoyable experience for everyone.

Application details:

Delegates must sign up as part of a school delegation (we ask that you limit your delegation size to a maximum of 30), through their school/institution's internal faculty advisor (including delegates who attend Stephen Perse); we will not accept any applications of individual delegates. If delegations are accepted, further details on students can then be added. Faculty advisors will be responsible for all of their students throughout the entire conference, both on and off site, and must be present at the conference at all times. 

Acceptance of delegations will be done at the discretion of the CamMUN Secretariat.

Payments and individual student details can be added after the delegation has been accepted, and further information, including the assignments for delegates, will be issued by mid-December. The delegate fee is £75, with a 10% discount for UK state school applicants, and the Chair fee is £30. Please note that unfortunately this year we will not be able to provide any bursaries for application fees.

Applications will open on the 10th of September 2026 and close on the 3rd of November. The deadline for payments is the 3rd of November 2026, and refunds will not be accepted after the 10th of January 2027. Please be aware that places can fill quite quickly for this conference; if and when we reach maximum capacity (roughly 300 delegates), we will open up a waiting list for any other delegations wishing to apply. 

We also welcome applications for Chairs (those who moderate the debates). Ideally, if you want to apply for this role, you should have attended at least 1 MUN conference before in some capacity, and should be well versed in the MUN parliamentary procedure. If you want to apply as a Chair, we will meet with you for a short interview so we can determine if you are right for the role and what committee you might suit. Please also note we hold spaces for delegates for any people who are not assigned a role as Chair. 

Students who wish to apply as Chairs should apply individually, not under a delegation. However, you do still need to come as part of a school/institution so please indicate this in the personal details section of your application, and make sure that they are registered as a delegation before you apply.

Accommodation and transport will not be provided for CamMUN 2027, however we will provide on our website a list of recommended hotels and hostels in central Cambridge, as well as transport links to the school site on our website for any schools coming from further afield. 

For international schools, we do require students to have an English standard of at least B1, but ideally in the high B range, based on the CEFR standards. We do not require the exams to have been taken, but if students are not proficient in spoken English they will be unable to fully participate in the debating and so will not be able to enjoy the conference, and may also affect the flow of debate for other delegates.
