About

Dear MUN Directors and Advisors,

At Benjamin Franklin International School in Barcelona, our High School MUN community is once again looking forward to one of our favorite moments of the year: a weekend where our passion for global affairs meets our commitment to academic excellence, meaningful dialogue, and lifelong friendships. It is with great excitement that we invite you and your students to BFISMUN 2027, the sixth annual edition of Benjamin Franklin International School Model United Nations, taking place Friday, April 2 – Sunday, April 4, 2027, in Barcelona, Spain.

For more than half a decade, BFISMUN has provided a space for young global citizens to develop their confidence, critical thinking, leadership, and collaborative skills. This year's conference continues that tradition under the theme "The Future Is Negotiable: Shaping Tomorrow Through Diplomacy."

At a time when the international community faces growing geopolitical tensions, challenges to international cooperation, and rapidly evolving global threats, we believe that diplomacy is more important than ever. Our theme invites delegates to look beyond today's divisions and consider the role they can play in shaping a more peaceful, just, and cooperative future. Through debate, negotiation, and collaboration, delegates will be challenged not only to understand the complexities of global politics but also to envision meaningful solutions.

BFISMUN 2027 will feature five committees, each addressing two carefully selected topics connected to our conference theme:

  • United Nations Security Council (UNSC)
  • United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC)
  • Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISC)
  • Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC)
  • General Assembly (GA)

All committees will be conducted entirely in English, encouraging international dialogue and inclusivity. Research reports and additional delegate resources will be published on our website in the coming months to support students in their preparation.

The conference fee is €70 per delegate, which includes breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, coffee breaks and snacks, lunch on Saturday, delegate materials, and participation in all conference activities.

For visiting schools, accommodation recommendations can be provided upon request. Additional logistical information, conference updates, and delegate resources will be available at mun.bfischool.org.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at bfismun@bfischool.org.

We look forward to welcoming you and your students to BFIS for another memorable weekend of diplomacy, debate, collaboration, and friendship.

The future is not predetermined. It is shaped by the choices we make, the conversations we have, and the willingness to find common ground. At BFISMUN 2027, we invite our delegates to be part of that process.

Warm regards,

The BFISMUN 2027 Team
