Say Hi to Alex K (not D), our Post-It Director!

Life at mymun

You are probably reading this article, and all the others on our blog, not thanks to me, but thanks to Alex K. He is the one who has to read my spelling mistakes, propose new ways to say the word diplomacy, and occasionally question my journalism choices (in the nicest way possible) before each post goes live.
Alex K is one of the senior members of the mymun team and also works at a tech startup. When he is not working on MUN projects, you will probably find him in the mountains with his amazing dog, Lobby, whom I was lucky enough to see growing up.
He first got into MUN when his school offered it as an alternative to the oral graduation exam. “I thought, ‘I don´t mind talking, this could be fun’. Then, they told me I had to wear a suit, so I bought one (step one to becoming a businessman like my dad)”.  After a mini simulation at school and a conference in Munich, he was hooked. His first conference was pure chaos. “Debates so wild it felt like they were about aliens”. If you are going to attend your first conference soon, he will tell you not to aim for perfection right away:

“Submit documents and speak up. Because if you don't put yourself out there, you won´t get better.”

When Alex K, Joans, and Alex D started working on MUN Command, somewhere along the way, the Nerf guns appeared. Picture a coworking space that’s one-third coding, one-third eating, and one-third running for cover. People complained at first, but they soon joined in.
Now, in addition to editing my blog articles (counting this one). Alex handles mymun´s communications, keeps our website clean, and ensures our messages accurately reflect what we are about.
Working with Alex means there is never a dull moment, whether it is debating sentence structure or watching Lobby demand attention during a Zoom call. He is the kind of leader who makes big projects feel possible and deadlines feel (almost) fun. So, yes, this article, along with all the others, has his fingerprints. And honestly, mymun wouldn´t be quite the same without him.
