🌐 United Nations Human Rights Council — UNHRC

The United Nations Human Rights Council, or UNHRC, works to promote and protect human rights around the world. It addresses serious human rights concerns, encourages international cooperation, and discusses ways to ensure dignity, equality, and freedom for all. ⚖️🕊️🌍

📌 Agenda

“Ensuring Freedom of Speech vs. Prevention of Hate Speech” 🗣️⚔️🛡️

Freedom of speech is a fundamental human right that allows individuals to express their opinions, ideas, and beliefs. However, speech that encourages hatred, discrimination, violence, or hostility against individuals or communities can threaten human dignity and social harmony. 🌈🤝

In this committee, delegates will discuss how countries can protect the right to free expression while preventing the harmful effects of hate speech. They will explore questions such as:

• How can freedom of speech be protected? 🗣️
• When should restrictions on speech be considered? ⚖️
• How can hate speech be identified and addressed? 🛡️
• What role should governments, schools, social media platforms, and international organisations play? 🌐📱
• How can human rights be protected without encouraging censorship? 🕊️🔍

This agenda will encourage delegates to think critically, listen to different perspectives, negotiate effectively, and create balanced solutions. 🤝📜✨
