Welcome to Unicent MUN 2026, a 2-day conference bringing together over 400 passionate delegates, future leaders, and thinkers for debate, strategy, and diplomacy. Beyond intense committee sessions, delegates can look forward to a vibrant event experience with a DJ night, energetic socials, and an array of at least 6 gourmet food stalls to refuel and network.

🌐 Committees & Brief Descriptions

1. UNSC (United Nations Security Council)

 * Focus: International Peace & Security

 * Description: The premier organ for handling global security crises and geopolitical tensions. Delegates represent permanent and non-permanent member states to negotiate resolutions on military conflicts, peacekeeping mandates, and national sovereignty challenges.

2. UNHRC (United Nations Human Rights Council)

 * Focus: Fundamental Human Rights & Protections

 * Description: Dedicated to strengthening and protecting human rights globally. Delegates tackle critical issues such as refugee crises, civil liberty violations, digital rights, and systemic inequalities across nations.

3. Lok Sabha (Indian Parliament)

 * Focus: Indian Domestic Policy & Governance

 * Description: Simulating the lower house of India’s Parliament, delegates step into the shoes of Parliamentarians and Ministers to debate pressing national issues, draft bills, and hold government policy accountable.

4. ECOSOC (Economic and Social Council)

 * Focus: Sustainable Development & Global Economy

 * Description: Coordinates the economic and social efforts of the UN. Delegates focus on global economic stability, sustainable development goals (SDGs), poverty eradication, and international financial equity.

5. International Press (IP)

 * Focus: Journalism, Media, & Documentation

 * Description: Operating as reporters, photojournalists, and editors, IP delegates document committee debates, interview delegates, and produce articles or newsletters capturing the conference’s key highlights and controversies.

6. UNGA DISEC (Disarmament & International Security Committee)

 * Focus: Arms Control & Counter-Proliferation

 * Description: The First Committee of the UN General Assembly. Delegates debate strategies to address global threats, nuclear non-proliferation, cyber-warfare, and the regulation of international weaponry.

7. IPL (Indian Premier League Auction / Management Board)

 * Focus: Sports Management, Finance & Bidding Strategy

 * Description: A fast-paced, high-stakes committee simulation where delegates represent team owners and managers. Participants navigate real-time budget management, player auctions, and strategic team building.
