About

Power is seized. Loyalty is manufactured. History is rewritten.

The Third Reich: A Crisis Simulation

Historical Crisis | Alternate History | Political Strategy

Step into one of the most turbulent periods in modern history. The Third Reich: A Crisis Simulation is a historical Model United Nations experience set in Nazi Germany, where delegates will confront political instability, ideological conflicts, intelligence operations, and the struggle for power within one of history’s most notorious regimes.

Through dynamic crisis scenarios, delegates must navigate complex political decisions, respond to unexpected developments, negotiate with rival factions, and manage the consequences of their actions. Every decision can alter the course of events, reshape alliances, and determine the future of the regime.

The simulation will be divided into three independent committees, each offering a distinct perspective on the unfolding crisis. Delegates will be challenged to think critically, act strategically, and adapt to rapidly changing circumstances while exploring the mechanisms of authoritarian power and the dangers of ideological extremism.

History is not merely observed. In this simulation, it is contested.

Will you preserve the established order, challenge those who control it, or set in motion events that change history forever?

Strategic Decision-Making and the Crisis of German Military Command during World War II

    About the committee

THE WEHRMACHT High Command Crisis Committee The German Armed Forces stand at the centre of a war that will determine the fate of Europe. Within the Wehrmacht, military strategy, personal ambition, ideological loyalty, and the struggle for authority collide as senior commanders confront an increasingly volatile situation. As delegates of the Wehrmacht’s high command, participants will assume the roles of historical military leaders responsible for shaping operational strategy, managing military crises, and navigating the complex relationship between the armed forces and the Nazi leadership. Through confidential briefings, emergency directives, strategic deliberations, and rapidly evolving developments, delegates must respond to battlefield setbacks, disagreements within the command structure, and decisions that could alter the course of the war. In this committee, military expertise alone will not be enough. Delegates must balance competing priorities, negotiate with powerful figures, and confront the consequences of decisions made under extraordinary pressure. The front lines are only part of the battle. The struggle for command begins within.

The Struggle for Power Within the SS: Hans Natermann’s Rise and the Crisis of Internal Loyalty.

    About the committee

. PROJECT HANS Identity, Power and Intrigue SS Committee | The Third Reich: A Crisis Simulation Henry James Lenox, born in Edinburgh in 1915, was the son of a diplomat and grew up between London, Russia, Germany and France. Educated at Fettes College and Oxford, he developed the linguistic abilities and cultural knowledge that would eventually lead him into British intelligence. Recruited by MI6 at the age of twenty-two, Henry undertook several assignments across Europe before being entrusted with one of his most dangerous missions: infiltrating the German military establishment under the identity of Hauptmann Hans Natermann. His carefully constructed cover allowed him to move within the Wehrmacht while concealing his allegiance to Britain. However, in 1944, his deception was exposed by the SS. Captured and subjected to a secret reprogramming process, Henry was forced into a transformation intended to sever his former loyalties and reconstruct his identity. The man who emerged from this process was Hans Natermann, an officer whose past had become a closely guarded secret. His subsequent rise through the SS was remarkable. Advancing through its hierarchy, Natermann acquired influence, authority and a reputation that made him a figure of considerable importance within the organization. His proximity to the highest levels of power, combined with his rapid advancement, set him apart from officers who had spent years building their own careers. But influence inevitably breeds resentment. Within the SS, Natermann’s rise has unsettled the established order. Senior officers regard his growing authority with suspicion, ambitious subordinates fear that their prospects are being eclipsed, and competing factions see his position as both an opportunity and a threat. Questions surrounding his past, his loyalties and the circumstances of his advancement create fertile ground for political manoeuvring. The year is 1944. Hans Natermann stands at the centre of an increasingly bitter struggle for power. In this committee, delegates will represent figures within the SS who must navigate a hierarchy destabilized by Natermann’s influence. Through political manoeuvring, strategic alliances, institutional rivalry and competing ambitions, they will seek to counterbalance his authority and protect their own positions. Every decision carries consequences. Trust is scarce, information is valuable, and the struggle for influence may prove as dangerous as any external threat. The objective is not merely to survive within the SS hierarchy, but to determine who holds power, who controls the institution’s future, and whether Natermann’s growing influence can be contained.

Military Intelligence, Internal Dissent, and the Crisis of Loyalty within the Abwehr, 1944.

    About the committee

THE ABWEHR Military Intelligence, Political Intrigue, and the Crisis of Loyalty Operating in the shadows of the Third Reich, the Abwehr, Germany’s military intelligence service, occupies a precarious position between military command, political authority, and the struggle for control over information. As the war intensifies, intelligence failures, conflicting reports, covert operations, and growing distrust threaten to undermine the institution from within. Its officers must navigate a dangerous environment in which information is power, loyalty is constantly questioned, and the consequences of a single decision may extend far beyond the battlefield. In this crisis committee, delegates will assume the roles of historical Abwehr officials, confronting intelligence assessments, diplomatic complications, internal rivalries, and mounting pressure from the Nazi leadership. They must evaluate uncertain information, respond to rapidly evolving developments, and determine how their institution will survive amid competing interests and an increasingly repressive political system. Beneath the official mission of protecting German military interests lies a deeper struggle over the limits of obedience, the responsibilities of intelligence officers, and the consequences of serving a regime responsible for aggressive war and systematic persecution. Information is power. Secrecy is survival. Trust may be the greatest risk of all.
