The Ukraine War has reached a stalemate point following the Ukrainian offensive of 2023 and the Russian counteroffensives of 2024 and 2025. The new US President, Donald J. Trump, has aggressively pushed for the two nations to open peace negotiations, with his administration acting as mediator.

While active negotiations are ongoing between the two parties, the UN has convened this session. The purpose of today’s conference is to produce a joint resolution aimed at advocating for a fair and just peace settlement between the two parties that ensures a just and lasting conclusion to the current conflict.
