About

Think Speak Lead

Welcome to SGCMUN 2026, a student led Model United Nations conference taking place in Bratislava at Súkromné gymnázium Česká 10.

Following the tradition of past MUN conferences at Česká, we are bringing a new and improved edition, built by students, with a fresh vision and a stronger focus on quality, atmosphere, and overall experience.

With our motto Think. Speak. Lead., we aim to create a space where you can challenge ideas, speak with confidence, and grow into a leader. Whether it is your first conference or your tenth, SGCMUN 2026 is designed to be welcoming, engaging, and genuinely enjoyable.

At its core, this conference is about people: meeting others, exchanging perspectives, and making the most of the MUN experience.

We cannot wait to welcome you all to SGCMUN 2026.

Freedom of Expression on Social Media

    About the committee

The rise of social media has created unprecedented opportunities for communication, but it has also sparked debates over the limits of freedom of expression online. Governments and platforms grapple with balancing the protection of human rights against issues like misinformation, hate speech, and harmful content. The Human Rights Council will examine how international standards on freedom of expression apply in digital spaces, the responsibilities of states and tech companies, and ways to safeguard open dialogue while protecting users from abuse.

The Usage of FPV Drones in Modern Warfare

    About the committee

The growing use of First-Person View (FPV) drones has transformed modern warfare, particularly in conflicts such as the Russo-Ukrainian War. These low-cost, highly maneuverable systems enable precision strikes, reconnaissance, and asymmetric tactics, posing new challenges for conventional military doctrines. Within NATO, member states must assess the strategic, ethical, and operational implications of FPV drone deployment. Key concerns include countermeasures, escalation risks, rules of engagement, and the integration of emerging technologies into collective defense strategies.

    The Prague Spring

    About the committee

In August 1968, the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia, led by the Soviet Union, brought a sudden end to the reformist movement of the Prague Spring in Czechoslovakia. Efforts to introduce greater political freedoms were halted by military force, restoring strict control. In the aftermath, reforms were reversed, Alexander Dubček was removed from power, and a period of repression followed. The crisis raised urgent questions about sovereignty, intervention, and the limits of power during the Cold War. In this committee, delegates will address the international response and its implications for global security.
