S.MUN - ASEAN Championship 2027

OVERVIEW:
S.MUN is a diplomatic competition simulating the actual proceedings of the United Nations, organized in support of United Nations General Assembly Resolution 77/336 and aimed at promoting awareness and fostering a profound understanding of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Over the course of 10 seasons held across Southeast Asia, S.MUN has firmly established itself as a premier, large-scale diplomatic competition for delegates all over the region. Building on this strong foundation, S.MUN is continuing its vision to foster a connected global MUN community. 
Each season proudly welcomes hundreds of international delegates to engage in diplomatic debate, while empowering a new generation of global citizens to collaborate, lead, and shape the future of international relations.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY-LEVEL SESSION
S.MUN takes pride in being one of the pioneering programs to convene Model United Nations at the General Assembly level, wherein delegates assume the roles of national leaders to formulate global policy decisions. While this structural framework may initially prove unfamiliar to numerous Delegates, it remains a high-level session, unequivocally mandating that all formal statements and proceedings strictly adhere to diplomatic protocol.
 

S.MUN ASEAN CHAMPIONSHIP 2027 THEME: EMERGING AS A DRAGON FROM THE GREEN ECONOMY.
Among the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), four pivotal objectives are intrinsically linked to the nexus of the Economy and the Environment. These encompass:
Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production. 
Goal 13: Climate Action. 
Goal 14: Marine Resources and Environment. 
Goal 15: Terrestrial Resources and Environment.
Consequently, Member States are confronted with the urgent imperative of resolving how to attain sustainable economic development whilst simultaneously ensuring the preservation and enhancement of the natural environment. In alignment with this exigency, S.MUN Season 11 is convened under the principal theme: EMERGING AS A DRAGON FROM THE GREEN ECONOMY.
Member States are required to formulate measures and submit proposals to address the inquiry: "What constitutes the appropriate approach to simultaneously advance sustainable economic development and preserve, as well as enhance, the environment?"
