RNSMUN 2026

RNS MUN 2026 is a two-day Model United Nations conference organised by the RNSIT MUN Society at RNS Institute of Technology, Bengaluru, India on 6th and 7th October 2026.

The conference brings together students from diverse academic backgrounds to engage in structured debate, diplomacy, negotiation, research and policy-making. Delegates will be placed in simulated international and parliamentary forums, where they will represent countries, political representatives or media organisations and deliberate on contemporary issues of international and national significance.

Committees:

1. United Nations Security Council (UNSC): A high-level security council focused on international peace and security, geopolitical crises, conflict resolution and strategic decision-making.

   2. United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC): A forum addressing contemporary human-rights challenges, international standards, state responsibilities and mechanisms for protecting fundamental rights.

   3. Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC): The General Assembly's principal committee dealing with disarmament, arms control, international security and emerging security threats.

   4. United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC): A specialised forum focusing on transnational organised crime, illicit trafficking, terrorism, drug-related challenges and international cooperation.

   5. Lok Sabha: A simulation of the lower house of the Parliament of India, providing delegates an opportunity to engage in parliamentary debate, policy discussion, political negotiation and legislative decision-making.

   6. International Press (IP): A dynamic media simulation where participants operate as members of the press, covering committee proceedings, investigating developments, conducting interviews and shaping the narrative surrounding the conference.

The Conference Experience

RNS MUN 2026 is designed to go beyond conventional classroom learning by encouraging delegates to research independently, articulate informed positions, negotiate with opposing perspectives and work collaboratively towards solutions.

The conference will provide opportunities for participants to develop public speaking, critical thinking, diplomacy, leadership, writing and decision-making skills in a competitive yet collaborative environment.

With a diverse set of committees spanning international security, human rights, disarmament, organised crime, Indian parliamentary affairs and journalism, RNS MUN 2026 aims to offer a comprehensive and engaging Model United Nations experience.
