ANNOUNCEMENT: CANCELLATION OF MUNWC I 2026

The International Federation of Model United Nations regrets to announce the cancellation of the Model United Nations World Conference I 2026, originally scheduled to be hosted on myMUN.
This decision follows an unexpected and systemic contraction in the non-profit funding sector. A broader macroeconomic reallocation of corporate sponsorships, private foundation grants, and institutional endowments within the United States has severely impacted discretionary educational programming. Philanthropic capital that historically underwrites large-scale international initiatives has been restricted or diverted toward localized operations. Because international summits rely heavily on these structural subventions to cover fixed operational overhead, venue costs, and participant subsidies, this sudden deficit in the funding pipeline cannot be offset by registration fees alone.
We recognize the immense preparation, research, and dedication our registered delegates have already invested in this conference. This cancellation is a direct reflection of current financial constraints within the non-profit sector and is in no way a reflection of the caliber of our attending delegations.
All future WINMUN events are to proceed as scheduled.
