MUNOPOL 2024

Peace, Sustainability, and Perspectives : Rethinking diplomacy for the future of humanity

The MUNOPOL, the Model United Nation of ESPOL, is back for its second edition in Lille ! This year, the MUNOPOL will be held from February the 16th to February the 18th, in Lille, France. 

Our goal is to allow everyone to be part of this event and to let you experience a full scale simulation. Organizing MUNOPOL is a tradition in our school, this weekend includes negotiations and more informal discussion.

This year’s edition will begin with an opening event, in which we will have the honor to receive a special guest. On the following day, you will participate in diplomatic debates in your committees and attend the MUNOPOL’s traditional gala in the evening. The weekend will end with the resolution day, through which you will vote the final resolution and attend the closing ceremony.

Participating in the MUNOPOL is a great way to express yourself and dialogue, to act as an international diplomat, to meet people from all around the world. We want to hold an event which will feel as if you are a professional delegate but also allows you to meet new people and have lots of interactions. Therefore, we are more than happy to welcome you for this conference.

This year's subject is “Peace, sustainability and perspectives : rethinking diplomacy for the future of humanity”. 

We will mainly debate about the current crisis and try to find solutions. Those ones should be decided in order for the climat, the population and our children to be protected. The goal is to solve problems while thinking about long term repercussions. Finding ways to reduce conflict’s impact will be one of our preoccupations as we are witnessing a augmentation of war in the world. The environmental situation and health as well as education will also be discussed . 

Taking part in the MUNOPOL means taking decisions, taking into account geopolitic and global issues. But it also means attending a gala, meeting other participants over lunch and coffee, going back home with MUNOPOL souvenirs… It is a human experience as much as a professional one. Don’t be afraid to participate, everyone, regardless of your level you are welcomed. Some of our committees will host experienced delegates while others are dedicated to beginners !
