About

Welcome to MaasMUN!

Hosted by UWC Maastricht in the Netherlands, MaasMUN brings students together to debate global issues, exchange perspectives and work towards shared solutions.

Our conference follows Cambridge-style MUN procedures. As delegates, participants represent countries, explore international challenges and collaborate on resolutions. Through debate and negotiation, they develop their public speaking, research, critical thinking and diplomatic skills.

Guided by our student organising team and Student Officers, MaasMUN aims to create a welcoming and engaging environment for both first-time delegates and experienced MUN participants. Our international school community provides a setting where different backgrounds and viewpoints enrich the discussion.

Join us in Maastricht to make your voice heard, challenge your thinking and connect with fellow students who share an interest in international affairs.

Committees

Delegates in the Security Council tackle the most urgent threats to international peace and security, from armed conflicts to sanctions and peacekeeping. Debate is fast and high-stakes: only a few countries hold a seat, the permanent members wield the veto, and every resolution depends on careful negotiation and compromise. It’s a demanding committee, best for delegates who think quickly, speak with confidence, and enjoy real diplomatic pressure. If you want to feel what it’s like to make decisions that could change the course of a crisis, this is the committee to choose.
