Johann×Lennon Gymnasien Model United Nations 2027

Two schools. One assembly.

In 2027, jlgMUN takes place for the fourth time – and for the first time as a joint venture between the John-Lennon-Gymnasium (Berlin-Mitte) and the Johann-Gottfried-Herder-Gymnasium (Berlin-Lichtenberg). This new partnership brings delegates from both schools together and further enriches the diversity of perspectives within our conference. jlgMUN is organised on a strictly non-profit basis by students and staff of both schools.

Conference structure – 3 to 6 June 2027
Day 1 – Opening Ceremony at the British Embassy Berlin: welcome, keynote address, introduction to committees and procedure.
Days 2–3 – Committee Sessions: delegates debate their topics, negotiate in blocs and draft resolutions in formal and informal sessions.
Day 4 – Final Committee Sessions and Closing Ceremony: voting procedures, adoption of resolutions, awards and formal closing.

Committees are marked Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced, so first-time delegates find their footing while experienced delegates are properly challenged. Since our first conference in 2024, opened at the Federal Foreign Office and closed at the Nordic Embassies, jlgMUN has grown to more than 150 delegates.

Eligibility
Participation is open exclusively to school students aged 13–18 (Years 8–12). Every delegation must be accompanied and supervised by a teacher or adult supervisor for the entire duration of the conference. Enquiries from individuals not affiliated with a school, or without a supervising teacher, cannot be considered.

Registration and contact
Delegations of 5–15 students; the fee is €45–50 per delegate and advisor. Host families can be arranged on request.
