GVMUNITE 2025

Delegates,

GVMUN is pleased to announce the Global Virtual Model United Nations International Trivia Event (GVMUNITE). Test your knowledge of global affairs, diplomacy, and international relations in this exciting competition open to anyone with an interest in international relations and modern history! Specifically, the competition, expected to be around an hour long, will cover the following topics:

• International governance - IGOs such as the UN, EU, ASEAN, etc., and their histories
• International relations - Diplomacy between countries, major treaties/agreements, and more
• Modern global history - Major events, personalities, and developments from the past 150 years of world history
• Political concepts - The definitions and applications of different political concepts, such as ways to set up a government
• Geography - National capitals and regions, the locations of historical events, and more

The competition format will take the form of two rounds, as follows, after a brief icebreaker and warmup:

1. Prelims - Competitors will be randomly divided into groups of 4-5, and compete in a round of Jeopardy in breakout rooms
2. Finals - The top-performing competitors from each group of Jeopardy will  compete in a Kahoot to determine the top winner

Note that both the finalists and champion will receive certificates, shoutouts on social media, and an opportunity to work with the GVMUN team as interns. After the competition ends, any delegates can stay back for a session of Fun MUN, with discussions, polls, geography, and GVMUN opportunities.
