The Rise of Formula E: Evaluating Its Impact on Formula 1’s Future, Market Position, and Technological Direction.

    About the committee

The Formula 1 Committee at EWMUN is a specialized forum where delegates step into the roles of team principals, drivers, FIA officials, engine suppliers, and commercial stakeholders to debate the future of the world’s fastest sport. With billions in investments, global audiences, and intense technological competition, Formula 1 is more than racing—it is a complex international ecosystem involving safety regulations, environmental responsibilities, commercial negotiations, and political tensions. Delegates in this committee will navigate the challenges of maintaining fair competition, ensuring driver safety, regulating team finances, negotiating with host nations, and steering the sport through unprecedented technological and environmental change. With the power to propose and modify regulations, address disputes between teams, and shape the long-term vision of F1, this committee demands strategic thinking, diplomacy, and rapid decision-making. High-pressure debates, sudden crises, and real-world controversies make this one of the most thrilling committees at EWMUN.

Assessing the Legality and Ethics of Dexter Morgan’s Vigilante Actions in Miami

    About the committee

The Ethics Committee (EC) is a special, fictional MUN crisis committee that explores the blurred lines of morality, justice, and law enforcement in Miami’s darkest corners. Delegates step into the roles of police officials, legal experts, media representatives, psychologists, and community leaders, tasked with evaluating Dexter Morgan — a forensic analyst who secretly eliminates dangerous killers who escaped justice. The committee examines whether his actions serve justice, protect society, or undermine the rule of law. Delegates must weigh ethical dilemmas, legal precedent, and societal impact while facing the consequences of inaction, public opinion, and escalating criminal activity. This committee challenges delegates to ask: When the law fails, can a single individual justify taking it into their own hands?

    FIFA Player Auction

    About the committee

All teams/clubs receive an equal budget (€200 million). No team may exceed the allocated budget under any circumstances. A master list of players will be provided before the committee begins. Each player has a base value from which bidding starts. Delegates may request additional players only before the auction begins. The Executive Board (EB) announces a player and starts bidding from the base value. Each new bid must be at least €1 million higher than the previous bid. A bid is valid only if the delegate has enough remaining funds. If a delegate bids more than their available funds, the bid is declared invalid. A player is sold after three warnings: “Going once, going twice, sold.” Once sold, the amount is immediately deducted from the club’s budget. The winning club must record the purchased player in its squad list. Each team must complete a squad of at least 11 players. Each team may have a maximum of 15 players. Squad should preferably include: 1 goalkeeper, 3 defenders, 3 midfielders, 1 forward. EB maintains a live budget tracker throughout the auction. Delegates must keep their squad lists transparent and updated at all times. Misrepresentation of budget or squad details will lead to penalties. Penalties may include bid cancellation, loss of €5–10 million, or disqualification. No disruptive behaviour, bribing, or unfair influence is allowed. Delegates may challenge any financial discrepancy through the EB. Final scoring includes the strength and balance of the squad and remaining funds, which count as minor bonus points. All decisions by the Executive Board are final.

Deepfake Crimes: Transnational Investigations & Legal Accountability for AI-Manipulated Visual Media.

    About the committee

The rapid evolution of artificial intelligence has transformed the digital landscape—but it has also enabled an unprecedented wave of cyber-enabled crimes. Deepfake images and videos are now being used for identity theft, political manipulation, extortion, financial fraud, impersonation of public officials, and large-scale misinformation campaigns. INTERPOL’s Cybercrime Division convenes this emergency session in response to rising international cases where AI-generated visual media has compromised national security, disrupted elections, and inflicted severe psychological and reputational harm on individuals. Delegates in this committee act as law-enforcement agencies, cyber investigators, prosecutors, tech firms, and digital rights advocates. They must negotiate a global investigative protocol, build cross-border cooperation mechanisms, define legal liabilities for creators and distributors of deepfakes, and develop technical standards for authenticity verification. The committee is fast-paced, data-driven, and realistic. Delegates will examine case files, track virtual suspects, propose policy frameworks, and draft an international AI Forensics & Verification Treaty. This committee challenges participants to balance digital freedom, innovation, privacy, national security, and cyber-accountability in an era where seeing is no longer believing.

Ensuring Legal Accountability for Crimes Against the Rohingya

    About the committee

The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) is the primary UN body responsible for promoting, protecting, and addressing violations of human rights around the world. Established in 2006 and headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, the Council consists of 47 member states elected by the UN General Assembly on a rotating basis. The UNHRC works through open debate, fact-finding missions, investigations, and special rapporteurs to examine both systemic human rights challenges and urgent crises. From addressing discrimination, conflict-related abuses, torture, and statelessness to evaluating digital surveillance, climate-driven migration, and the rights of minorities, the Council aims to ensure that all individuals enjoy fundamental freedoms and protections as outlined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In MUN simulations, the UNHRC encourages delegates to balance sovereignty vs. intervention, national policies vs. universal rights, and political realism vs. moral responsibility. Delegates are expected to propose practical, rights-centered solutions, strengthen accountability mechanisms, and uphold the global commitment to dignity, justice, and equality.
