DMUN Model Parliament & Congress 2025

  • What is DMUN Model Parliament & Congress 2025?
DMUN Model Parliament & Congress 2025 is a dual-track legislative simulation hosted by the DMUN Foundation, offering participants a unique opportunity to experience the workings of both international parliaments and the U.S. Congress. Participants can choose between the Parliament Program, which simulates legislative debates in national parliaments, or the Congress Program, which focuses on the legislative process in the U.S. Senate.
  • Dates:
    August 2–3, 2025
  • Format:
Fully Online and Free of Charge, making it accessible to students worldwide.
  • Two Programs Running Simultaneously:
Participants select one of two distinct legislative simulations, each offering a deep dive into parliamentary and congressional decision-making:

    1. Parliament Program – Simulation of International Parliaments

Delegates will step into the roles of legislators in two major parliamentary systems:

    • Lok Sabha (Indian Parliament)
      • Participants engage in policy debates, lawmaking, and government-opposition dynamics within India’s lower house of Parliament.
      • Discussions revolve around key legislative proposals, budget allocations, and national policies.
    • South Korean National Assembly
      • Delegates simulate the unicameral legislature of South Korea, debating domestic policies, international relations, and constitutional amendments.
      • The session mirrors the structure and function of real parliamentary committees and full-chamber debates.

    2. Congress Program – Simulation of the U.S. Congress (Senate)

    • Delegates take on the roles of U.S. Senators, engaging in the legislative process, policy debates, and hearings.
    • Sessions focus on drafting, debating, and passing legislation while navigating political alliances and procedural rules unique to the U.S. Senate.
    • Discussions may include major policy areas such as healthcare, foreign policy, economic reform, and civil rights.
  • Conference Highlights:
    • Realistic parliamentary and congressional simulations, incorporating official legislative procedures and debating styles.
    • Engaging discussions on contemporary policy issues, reflecting the priorities of each national legislature.
    • Opportunity to develop leadership, negotiation, and lawmaking skills in a structured, dynamic setting.
    • Certificates of participation and awards.
  • Who Should Participate?
    • Students and aspiring policymakers interested in:
      • Government, politics, and legislative decision-making
      • Public policy and lawmaking at national and international levels
      • Debate, negotiation, and parliamentary procedure
