Governance Is Not a Debate. It Is a Negotiation.
DMUN Model Parliament & Congress 2026 (DMUNP 2026) is DMUN Foundation's flagship legislative simulation, bringing together over 900 school and university students from around the world for two days of parliamentary debate, legislative drafting, negotiation, and policymaking.
Unlike traditional Model United Nations conferences, DMUNP places delegates inside legislative chambers where success depends not only on public speaking, but also on coalition-building, party strategy, procedural knowledge, and the ability to turn ideas into legislation.
Delegates are assigned political roles and work within real parliamentary structures, navigating the same challenges faced by elected representatives: balancing competing interests, negotiating across political divides, and building support for policy proposals.
Committees
House of Commons (United Kingdom)
Delegates will examine the future of the National Health Service, immigration and asylum policy, and the challenges of balancing energy security with the UK's net-zero commitments.
United States Congress
Participants will debate artificial intelligence regulation, comprehensive immigration reform, and federal climate policy through the legislative processes of both the Senate and House of Representatives.
Lok Sabha (India)
Delegates will address data protection and privacy, agricultural policy and minimum support price guarantees, and the constitutional and social implications of a Uniform Civil Code.
The DMUNP Experience
DMUNP is designed to mirror the realities of legislative politics. Delegates will engage in formal debate, party caucuses, policy negotiations, legislative drafting, amendment procedures, and coalition-building throughout the conference.
Ideas alone are rarely enough to secure outcomes. Delegates must build support, navigate competing interests, respond to opposition, and adapt their strategies as discussions evolve.
Every committee session is built around active participation, encouraging delegates to think critically, negotiate effectively, and work collaboratively in pursuit of legislative solutions.
Skills Developed
Through participation, delegates strengthen their abilities in:
- Public speaking and persuasive communication
- Policy analysis and legislative drafting
- Negotiation and consensus-building
- Critical thinking and problem-solving
- Parliamentary procedure and leadership
- Strategic decision-making
These skills extend far beyond conference rooms and remain valuable in law, public policy, diplomacy, politics, business, and civic leadership.
