Crossing borders, shaping futures: The voices of youth create the world

CYMUN will be held on January 4-5, 2024 in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, and will cover six committees, each of which will work in one of the languages:

1. ECOSOC (Economic and Social Council) — Russian language  
2. The General Assembly — Russian  
3. UNSC (UN Security Council) — English
4. Human Rights (Human Rights) — English  
5. UN Women (UN WOMEN) — English  
6. UNODC (UNODC — BUU Nashakorlyk zhane kylmys masseleri baskarmasy) — Kazakh language


The main objectives of CYMUN:

- Education and awareness-raising about global challenges and problems through simulation of the work of the United Nations.
- Development of participants' skills in public speaking, diplomacy and decision-making.
- Stimulating intercultural communication and strengthening international ties among young people.
- Creating conditions for constructive discussion and resolution of topical issues such as human rights, sustainable development, security, equality and the fight against drugs and crime.

Structure and work of the Committees
Each committee will discuss one or more topics related to its area of work. The topics for discussion will be announced in advance and will include both global and regional challenges. The process of work in each committee will include the following steps:

1. Opening of the session — presentation of the agenda and rules of work.
2. Debates — participants express their positions and discuss the proposed topics.
3. Adoption of resolutions — preparation and adoption of resolutions on the issues under discussion.
4. Closing of the session — summing up and awarding the best delegates.

Each committee will work in a specific language:
- ECOSOC — Russian
- General Assembly — Russian
- UNSC — Russian
- Human Rights — English
- UN Women — English
- UNODC (UNODC — BUU Nashakorlyk zhane kylmys masseleri baskarmasy) — Kazakh


Nominations will be awarded based on the results of the work in the committees:
- The best delegate
- The best positional report
- The best speaker
- The best chair
- The best co-chair
