Dear MUN Director / Advisor,

The Secretariat of COMUN 2026 cordially invites you to the tenth annual edition of the Coornhert Model United Nations. The conference will take place at the Coornhert Gymnasium on the 6th, 7th, and 8th of February 2026.

The year 2026 marks the tenth edition of COMUN, a milestone of exceptional significance. Since COMUN was founded in Gouda, it has grown into a respected platform where secondary school students can engage in diplomatic simulations that foster critical thinking and leadership. This anniversary celebrates both our achievements and the ongoing dedication of all who have contributed to COMUN’s success. We look forward to welcoming you to this tenth edition.

COMUN is for anyone with an interest in Model United Nations, for both beginners and more experienced delegates. As always, COMUN will host a variety of interesting committees, including a Crisis Committee, Security Council and UNDRR. 

This year’s theme is: “Silent wars: tackling overlooked conflicts”. While certain crises often dominate the global headlines, many conflicts affecting millions continue without global attention. These silent wars, such as civil conflicts or forgotten humanitarian emergencies, deserve urgent international focus.

At COMUN X, delegates will explore the causes and consequences of these hidden conflicts and discuss how diplomacy can bring them to light. By addressing what is too often overlooked, we aim to inspire meaningful dialogue and promote more inclusive and effective approaches to peace and security.

The participation fee is € 55 . An early bird discount of € 5 applies to registrations completed before the 6th of October 2025. Delegate registrations will be open until the 15th of November 2025.

Housing can be requested for an additional € 7,50. Delegates will reside with the families of some of our students for the weekend. While we strive to accommodate everyone, housing cannot be guaranteed for all delegates. Alternatively, accommodation is available in Gouda’s hotels. 

If interested in a position as Student Officer, please fill out the relevant forms at the end of this letter before the 15th of November. A motivation letter and a letter of recommendation by your MUN director are requested.
