Shaping Global Leaders Through Diplomacy and Debate
Atlas Model United Nations (Atlas MUN) is a student-led conference that simulates real-world diplomacy through dynamic, high-level debate. Designed for motivated and globally engaged students, Atlas MUN provides a platform for participants to step into the role of diplomats, represent assigned countries, and collaborate to address some of the most pressing international issues of our time.
The conference features a diverse range of committees, each offering a unique experience and level of challenge.
The Historical Committee – Cuban Missile Crisis (1962) places delegates in one of the most tense moments of the Cold War, where the risk of nuclear conflict between the United States and the Soviet Union was imminent. In this fast-paced environment, participants must navigate limited information, make critical decisions under pressure, and engage in strategic diplomacy. The committee will address nuclear crisis management, the balance of power, military escalation risks, and secret diplomatic negotiations.
The UNESCO Committee – Education in Conflict Contexts focuses on the protection and reconstruction of educational systems in areas affected by war and humanitarian crises. Delegates will debate how to ensure access to education for refugee populations, protect schools from attacks, and promote international cooperation to rebuild infrastructure and foster long-term social stability.
The General Assembly – Climate Change addresses one of the most urgent global challenges of the 21st century. This committee emphasizes multilateral negotiation and requires delegates to balance national interests while working toward collective solutions. Topics include climate justice, historical responsibility, climate financing, emission reduction, and adaptation strategies for vulnerable populations.
Across all committees, participants are expected to research their assigned country, engage actively in debate, collaborate with other delegates, and develop innovative, realistic solutions. Atlas MUN is committed to fostering essential skills such as public speaking, negotiation, critical thinking, and leadership in an environment that is both academically rigorous and welcoming.
Whether you are a first-time delegate or an experienced participant, Atlas MUN offers an opportunity to challenge yourself, expand your global perspective, and become part of a new generation of leaders.
