About the committee

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime was the main UN body for issues concerning illicit drugs, transnational organized crime, corruption, and terrorism. UNODC, established in 1997, assists Member States upon request in the areas of research, policy guidance, technical assistance, and the fostering of international legal frameworks such as the UN Convention against Transnational Organized Crime and the UN Convention against Corruption. Bound by a unique mandate at the nexus of security, development, and human rights, UNODC works to enhance the rule of law and strengthen international cooperation to confront pressing global criminal challenges in support of peace, human security, and sustainable development.

About the committee

The Crisis Committee is designed as the most advanced and demanding committee at the conference, intended exclusively for highly experienced delegates. Unlike traditional committees, participants will not receive prior information regarding the topic or their assigned positions. Instead, delegates will be assigned their roles upon entering the committee and will be provided with individual position papers during the opening ceremony. This structure eliminates the possibility of prior preparation and places delegates in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Delegates will be evaluated on their ability to think critically, adapt rapidly to evolving situations, debate effectively, and persuade others in real time while responding to continuous crisis developments.
