Sagittarius MUN Bro Code 📖

You’ve met him before in a DISEC committee. Chances are he was either uttering a pep talk to his block members or partying hard on a social night. Either way, you noticed him. Everyone did. He was there and ensured nobody could miss his intense, fiery, yet somehow relaxed vibe. We are, of course, talking about the Sagittarius MUN Bro ♐

Before we spark a controversy, let’s clarify that not all Sagittariuses fall under the MUN Bro category. But every MUN Bro has some Sagittarius in their birth chart. Let’s be honest. 
While one may assume that the MUN Bro would be overrepresented in high school conferences, it is astonishingly common to find him at university-level MUNs, especially those organized by business and economics schools. 

The Sagittarius MUN Bro (later referred to as ‘SMB’) is also known to be a fervent supporter of the free market. While giving the impression of being someone ‘too cool to care about labor in general, the SMB has embraced the idea that his success and identity are intrinsically linked to his value on the job market. Somehow this even translates into the way those personalities handle MUN. Wanna know more about this unique MUN personality type and the set of rules they live by? Get comfortable and keep reading!

Only some things are worth sharing on LinkedIn. For the Sagittarius MUN Bros, however, every MUN conference is yet another opportunity to post pictures of them wearing business attire,  coupled with inspiring captions such as “working against the clock 🕗” and interesting hashtags such as #SuccessIsTheBestRevenge. Why LinkedIn? Well, what if a recruiter is looking for someone with experience as the delegate of Tuvalu? You have to be ready when opportunities knock at your door, and Sagittariuses are born ready.

MUN Bros know all too well that the best CV headshots are taken at MUN conferences, most specifically during committee sessions. But to look effortlessly cool and charismatic, Sagittariuses cannot afford to awkwardly stare at the camera. No, they don’t want to look like they know they’re being photographed. Therefore, the best strategy to get a decent solo shot is for MUN Bros to be constantly on their watch for the committee photographer to come around and be on their A-game until he exits the room. Perfect life example of working smart, not hard.

The first committee session is not an episode of Shark Tank. But you never know who you can bump into at a conference! It could be a crush, a professor, a multi-million dollar investor, or a fellow MUN Bro,... The list of people to impress goes on. What better way to make the delegates invest in your Draft Resolution than creating a great first impression on Day 1? For that, you best believe SMBs have a well-rehearsed, moderately funny, non-controversial speech that puts everyone in awe. That Sagittarius charm works every time!

“Work hard, play harder” is the official mantra of the SMB community. If you thought Sagittariuses were intense in the committee sessions, wait to see them on Karaoke night, at the committee diner, or even (and especially) at the closing ceremony. Sagittarius MUN Bros take party culture very seriously. In fact, when they’re not socializing at the bar or getting crazy on the dancefloor, SMBs might make sure that quiet delegates are well-integrated and having a good time.

And you thought LinkedIn was their favorite social media platform? Everyone knows the cool kids are on Instagram and TikTok. Is MUN an opportunity to increase one’s number of followers? Absolutely. Suppose a MUN Bro did not give you their IG handle during the conference. In that case, you best believe they will use WhatsApp, email, or even the MUN Command chat to make their Instagram name known to the entire committee. This is called the hustle. Look it up 😎
