September 2017
University of Coimbra International Model United Nations is Portugal's first International MUN that wishes to be the kick-off for a more permanent MUN spirit within the country. The objective of the organizers is to provide a 4-day conference on which not only the debate will happen but where participants may experience Coimbra in a fully mode. Coimbra is home to the eldest university of the Country and one of the oldest in the World - 1290. It is thus a place where tradition and history meet frequently with youth and modernity, (apart from being incredibly beautiful). Portugal is currently the trendiest country on Europe and Coimbra is considered an Hidden Gem - European Best Destinations designation - and since the event will be held in September, this may be the entrance or the grand finale of your vacations on the country of amazing people, stunning landscapes, with an envious coastline and the place of "Saudade" - a feeling of longing for somebody or something which is no longer there - one of world's non-translatable words. Come to know the place that triggered the vests tradition (academic garment) that have inspired J.K Rowling's Hogwarts clothing. See you soon, UCIMUN Team.
