Samuel Lord

My name is Sam Lord, and I am honoured to serve as the Chair of the Human Rights Committee at the inaugural Cambridge Model United Nations. The subjects I study at sixth form are History, Spanish and French; I am also a member of the Student President Team and a Co-Chair of the school’s Feminism Society. As Chair of the Human Rights Committee I look forward to exploring fascinating topics such as LGBT rights in the developing world, the rights of indigenous people, universal access to primary healthcare and the freedom of journalists, all of which have been becoming more and more relevant recently, in ways into which I shall not delve in order to keep this bio politically unbiased! I hope to explore and debate on these issues with enlightened folk from around the world as we come together in the spirit of “hostility towards globalisation” at this conference in March 2018.
