September 2017
"The United Nations was founded in the aftermath of World War II, just as the world was beginning to learn the full horrors of history’s worst genocide" – Linda Chavez The world today is hardly free from horrors and tragedy. Nations are plagued by myriads of problems, some of whose solutions may be obtained from lengthy discussions and deliberations. It is unfortunate, then, that the murky water of International Politics prevent this much needed discourse. The United Nations provides this platform. Transcending alliances and hostilities, UN provides an equal footing for world leaders and dignitaries to bring to the table the issues at hand. Whether you are the leader of the most powerful country, or the head of small sovereign state, each individual voice matters. Model United Nations is an academic simulation of the same. It is a unique opportunity to let the youth of this world, the future leaders, academics and debaters express their opinions and venture into the world of decision-making. It is a chance to not only speak, but to listen, to imbibe knowledge and gain experience that a gathering of such talented speakers can produce. This September, let the best minds in the city teach you skillful negotiation, diplomacy and international laws. Disagree. Debate. Deliberate. Welcome to IEM MUN.
